Chicago is the largest city in the U.S. state of Illinois and had more then 2.8 million people, which makes it the third largest city in the United States.
Chicago is located on the southwestern shores of Lake michigan.
After a series of wars with the local Native Americans, Chicago was founded in 1833, near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River watershed.
In 2007 Chicago attracted 32.8 million domestic visitors and 1.15 million foreign visitors.

Sport in Chicago

Chicago was named the Best Sports City in the United States by The Sporting News in 1993 and 2006. The city is home to two Major League Baseball teams: the Chicago Cubs of the National League, who play in Wrigley Field on the city's North Side, and the Chicago White Sox of the American League, who play in U.S. Cellular Field on the city's South Side.
